As you know, today the principles of ESG and/or Sustainable Development are including in all aspects of life and are becoming more relevant every day. This is because Sustainable development is the ability of a society to exist and develop without depleting all the natural resources it needs for its future survival. OTP Group understands this perfectly well and actively applies these principles in its activities.
This can be seen in the example of the ESG summit held in the stunning city of Split in Croatia on May 13-15. Unlike the previous ones, this summit discussed ways to identify business opportunities in the field of green banking and their effective use. Taking this into account, the summit was attended by Umidjon Khakimov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Head of the Corporate Banking and Market Instruments Block, and Bakhtiyor Abdusalomov, Head of the Sustainable Development Department of Ipotekabank.
Another unique aspect of this summit was that the senior managers from HR directorate of our HQ participated in the summit and it was noted that in the OTP Group's activities in the management of ESG principles, priority should be given, not only to green banking, as we are used to seeing and hearing, as well as "S" (“social”) part that takes into account social factors. At the same time, establishing constant control over the implementation of the principles of "Responsible employer", creating equal opportunities for everyone in the banking sector, work-life balance, increasing their knowledge and potential through employee training, and other principles of "Responsible employer". It was said that the work will be accelerated so that OTP Group subsidiaries in all countries work based on standards arising from this principle.
In general, this summit has created a basis for obtaining new knowledge and skills for employees of Ipotekabank. This, in turn, serves as an example of how OTP Group increases the potential of its employees by investing in them.
